Performance Muffler Design
Conclusions based on extensive Dynamometer testing:
Conventional Mufflers:
- Large Opening (i.e. glass packs, Vance & Hines, Thundercones, etc.)
- Good top end horsepower gains but loss of low end torque
- Very noisy
- Small Opening (i.e. ususally mechanicals baffles, Paughco, Screamin Eagel, Supertrapp, etc.)
- Good torque and low to mid horsepower gains. Very limited mid to peak horsepower
- Quiet to medium noise levels, quiet ones result in significant horsepower loss
- Hybrids (i.e. usually some sort of louvered core, Samson, Bub, etc.)
- Moderate torque and horsepower
- Medium noise levels
We use PROVEN PATENTED TECHNOLOGY in the design of our PERFORMANCE 1st mufflers.
PERFORMANCE 1st mufflers:
- At low RPM act like mechanical baffles for good torque.
- At higher RPM, unique baffle design maintains peak exhaust velocity. This translates into optimum flow and real world horsepower gains.
- Baffle designed to minimize shockwaves, common to large open muffler designs. This results in a much quieter muffler.
